December 26th

A friend suggested I write this blog to help me track my feelings, and to vent so I will try this a a journal.

Today I was honored to a have Brie join us at Church.  She came with Rory, but sat with Terry and I.

Ben Moore led worship, and he taught us a new song, Forever Reign.

at 12:06 Brie texted me and said "Eric is going to play golf, so the girls and I had planned on coming over. Do you guys want us to or would you rather not since you aren't feeling well."

I answered "I'm throwing up and have diarrhea so i would hate to expose anyone to that."

Brie answered "OK  We will get the car from you later then as well"

I answered "whatever works for you guys.  You can sure come by and get it though"

Then about 2:00 she posted to her Blog the lyrics to the Song "Forever Reign"

At about 6:45 I was starting to feel a little better, and was in the Kitchen fixing a bowl of Chicken Noodle soup when the phone rang.

It was Brandon, and he said "Have you heard what happened"  I said No what, and he said Rory had called him and they had had a wreck over by Channign, and that Brie was unresponsive, but that everyone was OK.

Well Terry and i were both pretty woozy, so I called Chris and Megan and asked them to please head that way and let us know what had happened.  I really did not have any details.  No one we knew was close to the scene.  I finally got in touch wioth RTory, and he said the same thing.  Everyone else was OK, but Brie was un responsive.

I called Leroy Schafner, and asked him if he could find anything out.  He called me back in a little while and said all he could find out was that Liufestar had been launched.

Then a good friend Kim Jones came over and said she would drive us to Amarillo.  By this time we were beginning to hear a few details.  Apparently it was a head on collision .

Kim came by and picked us up, and we headed to  Amarillo. Bless you Kim!

By this time we We are hearing that the road is blocked, Life star has taken off with Brie, but that she had a pulse,and the baby had a strong pulse.

We turned at Channing and went arround through 4-way to avoid the traffic jam.  Chris and Megan were behind us, and Rory and Judy were at the Crash site with Eric and the Girls.

We had also called our dear friends, Robert and Barbara Ledbetter, and they had gone to the hospital and were waiting at the helipad.  Brie was never alone!

When we got to the Hospital, we rushed in the emergency room.  Brandso and Liza were there, as they had been in Amarillo, wen the call came.  They had driven to the crash and them back to Amarillo.

As the only nect of kin there, the doctors had asked permission to do an emergency C-section to deliver Curran, so that they could treat Brie.  He rightfully agreed to that.  Just as we go there, the DFostors were starting to take Brie up to the Delivery room.  Brandon, Liza, Terry and I got to see Brie as she was going uip.  We briefly talked to her and gave her some encouraging words.  A tear trickled down her face.  Her pupils were fixed and dialated at this point.  I will never forget that look!

Shortly after this the ambulances arrived with Eric, Mali and Eleri.  So we joined them in the Trauma 1 emergency room.  All three had neck braces on,  Eric had some cuts on his hand from breaking out glass
